CSO - CAMS Satellite Operator ============================= The *CAMS Satellite Operator* (CSO) is a tool box to facilitate assimilation of satellite observations in regional air quality models. The development of CSO is part of the `Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service (CAMS) `_. The CSO toolbox contains two main entities: * A *pre-processor* written in Python that can be used to download and convert satellite data, in particular Sentinel-5p data (TROPOMI instrument). * An *observation operator* written in Fortran that could be added to the source code of a simulation model. With this operator, the module could write out simulations of the satellite data and use these in a data assimilation procedure.
